Lost Boys & Co...

Somewhere under the ground in the San Diego Volcano Preserve, outside Metapan, El Salvador, we went searching for the various species of bats that live in this netherworld.  Like little Brown Bats, bigger Vampire Bats, giant Fruit Bats and the fearsome Chupacabra.  Photo #1 is the crew taking a rest after crawling on their hands and knees to get to this room.  L to R we have Comondante Ché, Beto, LoLa, Koki and the Professor.  The bats were there in numbers and despite their echo-location, we spent a fair amount of time bobbing and weaving to avoid being smacked by the flying mammals.  That being the case, it was hard to get a photo, but we persisted and got this one good one...

Clear this morning with 20 miles visibility and a lurking fog bank, somewhere offshore.  Winds were off by 5.2kts and the sea surface was glassy.  The air temperature was 58.2° and the water was 61.2°.  High tide was at 5:49am +4.5' and low tide will be at 11:31am +2.5'  We have a SSW swell out of 210° at 2.6' and we're calling it half of that at 1' and poor.  Maybe some weather tomorrow - we'll dial you in and let you know...

The Professor assessing the next section...  looks ripe to us...   ✠
