State Of Oaxaca Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

So, for the next week the report will be occasional and at best infrequent.  We're headed down to Puerto Escondido in the state of Oaxaca, for a little surfing, a little eating and a little music.  It's the annual jazz fest, so you're never sure who you're going to see...

Cold and blue this morning, with 15 miles visibility under a hazy sun.  Winds were offshore by 5.1kts and the sea surface was smooth and lightly brushed.  The air was a February appropriate 47.8˚ and the water was likewise 55.8˚.  High tide was at 10:56am +4.6' and low tide will be at 5:09pm +0.4'.  We have a west swell out of 269˚ at 3.0' at the 46221 Buoy and it's 1' to chin high from the Avenues to Hermosa.  Some fun ones if you knew where to look...

Knowing where to look can help with restaurants as well.  Cousin Freddy took us to "Guelaguetza" on Olympic and Normandie, just short of Koreatown and west of Little El Salvador.  Live music at 8, great food and molés that will knock your socks off...  if you're wearing them...  okay, it was cold...  until the molé kicked in...  This was the tablecloth.
