Hasta La Vista Cardon Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Besides good surf there are a couple of other things that can make a good surf trip.  One is the food and the other is the crew.  Photo #1 was Thursday's entrée.  It was an onion broth served in a red-hot stone bowl rimmed with chicken, shrimp, beef, queso amarillo, a napalé leaf, a relleño chile and a zucchini.  Yow-zum some good grinds... and that was just Thursday...!!

Lookin' a lot like the summer we never had this morning!  15 miles visibility with an inversion layer you could walk on and otherwise cloudless skies, but nothing like "clear."  Winds were calm all morning and the sea surface had a bit of bump.  The air temp was 67.5˚, going up and the water was 64.6˚, 67.7˚ @ the Hermosa Pier.  High tide was at 7:41am +3.7' and low tide will follow at 12:10pm +2.8'.  We have a SSW swell out of 198˚ at 3.3' and it's 2' to 3' at the beach.  Rasta Pete and Jimmy Thomas were standouts this morning on the north side of the pier, enjoying the great weather...

Remember the Fiesta Hermosa this weekend!  There's always something that you don't need that you really need...

You'd think that with this many folks it would be kinda plugged, but no...  It's a huge playing field, with lots of waves and a number of take-off spots.  From L To R:  The "Bobs" Teer & Warchola, José, Sammy, Andrew "Zico", Wheatley, Phil Starr, Josh, Danger Boy (the kids referred to him as "Danger" since they thought it was his first name), PW, Angele, Rolf, Jeff, Ken, The Professor and Phil.  (Photo:  Sandrita for El Trombone de Sinaloa)
