Day After Christmas Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Hope everyone had a joyous Christmas and prepping for a happy new year!

You have to remember where we are here...  It was 41.6˚ in Redondo this morning and it was damned cold.  So in Ireland 41˚ would be balmy and in Alaska it's t-shirt weather, but we're in So
Cal and it's freeze-ass.  Here we have two photos of winter Southern California style.  #1 is the remainder of a bucket of ice we threw out last night after the Christmas festivities.  It was still there at 7am in the morning!

Clear skies this morning and the winds were out of the NNE by 5.5kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air was the chilly 41.6˚ we mentioned before and the water was down a degree to 63.1˚.  Maybe the warmest water we've had for Christmas since we've been recording the temps.  Low tide was at 6:00am +2.1' and high tide will follow at 11:50am +5.1'.

#2 is a shot of our fledgling maple tree in the front yard with it's last leaf clinging for all it's worth.  It even made it through the winds we had on Christmas day!  That's tenacity...

Remember Kincaid's on the RB Pier on New Year's Eve!  4:30pm to watch the sun go down on the old year and hoist a few with good friends...
