Frankincense Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

When the storm broke a couple of days ago, we saw these blue clouds looming out of the gloom.  We wondered if they might be there all the time and you just can't see them because the sky is blue as well?

Cool and crisp this morning with 20+ miles visibility under partly cloudy skies.  Winds were out of the NE at 3.3kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temp was 50.1˚ and the water was 64.0˚.  High tide is at 6:40am +6.1' and low tide will follow at 1:50pm -0.4'.  We had a posted west swell out of 265˚ at 3.6', but it was bigger than that and we'll call it 4' to 6' outsides...  A lot of closeouts, but some gems to be found!

Paige Sullivan on a contest winning wave at the Hermosa Pier this morning against Peninsula.  An outside barrel, Paige pulled three rail to rail turns and bounced off the foam ball a couple of times for a heat winning wave.  The Redondo girls went 1,2,3 in shortboard and 1,2,4 in long!  RUHS 116 - PENN 38!
