A New Year's Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Happy New Year !!

Was great to see everyone who made it down to Kincaid's last night for the annual Lost Boys Adios to the Old Year and Green Flash Gala.  Also thanks to all of those who inquired about Gen Carlisle's condition after she melted into the bar and had to be carted out by the paramedics.  There were various notions circulating about why she collapsed, such as:  Too much vino (just one glass, unless she was sneaking something from Sully), the bar stools were too high and all the blood ran to her legs (her legs were fine), the bar stools were too high and cut off the circulation to her head (they were four feet, not four thousand feet), she fell asleep (never without her jammies), she fainted (BINGO!)  The official diagnosis was that she fainted.  That took a trip to Torrance Memorial and signing a AMA (Against Medical Advice) form to spring her from their clutches and bandaging her leg where the paramedics barked her shin on the door putting her in the ambulance.  What's that, job security???

Brilliant buy cold New Year's morning with 20+ miles visibility under clear skies.  Winds were offshore at 7.3kts and the sea surface was smooth and the water was super clear.  The air was 44.6˚ and the water was 61.9˚.  High tide was at 6:11am +6.1' and low tide will follow at 1:22pm -0.4' for your tide pool soup collecting pleasure.  We have a west swell out of 265˚ at 2.6' and it was 1' to 2' and poor to... well, poor...

The Pheasant Pluckers rockin' it...  They'll be playing over 30 dates this year locally!
