Ukulele Honolulu Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Some weather came through yesterday afternoon and staff photog Clark McTaggert took this pic of a rather ominous horizon in Hermosa...  A relatively warm rain it was nice for a walk or singin' in...

The morning dawned rainless and partly cloudy with 15 miles visibility.  Winds were off by 5.4kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temp was 57.9˚ and the water is holding at 62.2˚.  Low tide was at 10:09am +0.9' and high tide will fill in the gaps at 4:10pm +3.1'.  We have a west swell out of 261˚ at 4.3' and it's 3' to 4' and it was breaking pretty hard and lined up before the wind changed...

Benny Chong, Abe Lagrimas and Kalei Gamiao, were in town for the NAMM's (National Association of Music Merchant's) show and did a gig at the New Gardena Hotel on Sunday night.  Some absolutely astounding ukulele music.  Everything from traditional Hawaiian to modern jazz and improvisational jamming...  Some good grinds as well!  Thanks to Ivan Fernandez and Manny LaGod for putting together a great evening for the crew...

Speaking of ukulele music, hold Saturday evening February 7th, for a music and feast at the Professor's.  The Garcia & Clark Expedition will be putting on a celebration featuring Danger Boy and his special guests...  An evening you don't want to miss...  More to come...
