There's A Lock On Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

No, this didn't make the album cover either, but we were on the cover of "Brewer's Yeast" the magazine for micro breweries.  We purchased a "yard" of their finest microbrew  and it was cold, flavorful and had a mellow finish.  Captain Donnie says we should have ordered the "obscura."  This place is the first micro-brewery in Cuba...  Speaking of the album cover, these girls were part of the audition for a maraca and timbale player.  Turns out they played on cuts 4,5 and 7.  Lots of comments on the maraca player.  Sorry, Mick Jagger...

Happy Hour on Friday will be at the Mermaid and we understand that there will be Bikram Pool for those devotees.  Because it's getting dark so early, the wagon masters (LoLa & Jetski) have decided the gathering time will be 5:00pm instead of 5:30.  Someone suggested that those who work might have difficulty making the adjustment.  Understood.  Advice:  Leave early...

Of course here in the South Bay we have 20+ miles visibility under relatively cloudless skies.  Winds were offshore by 3.7kts and the sea surface was smooth to almost glassy.  The air temp was 57.2º and the water is an accommodating 65.5º.  High tide was at 8:39am +6.0' and low tide followed at 3:42pm -0.1'.  We have a weak SW swell out of 215º at 2.6', but it broke through high tide and there were some sneakers that were rideable...

Cool doorway in Habana Vieja.  The symbol on the upper right stands for "Casitas Particulares."  Those are the places you can stay in for a night or longer for a reasonable rate (usually about $15 US a night.)  They are usually pretty nice and you get brekky in the deal!
