Third Hand Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Our favorite surf photographer of late has been Anthony Renna.  His water shots always seem to have the kind of tension and beauty that one feels in the impact zone.  This lined up Hermosa left suggests both of those things...

Some clouds this morning with 15 miles visibility.  Winds were light offshore by 2.5kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temp was 51.5 and the water is still 60.4.  High tide was at 11:44am +4.8' and low tide is late at 6:34pm +0.0'.  We have a west swell out of 264 at 6.2' and depending on where you were it could've been 4' to 8'.

Meanwhile down at Burnout, there were some guys getting barreled on the outside overhead bombers.  We were so busy concentrating on this guys takeoff that we didn't notice whatever it was in front of him.  Duck diver, porpoise, something more sinister?  Looks kinda big...
