Candy Cane Lane Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

The lack of swell has made for some super-clear water.  Anthony Renna captures a picturesque little right (#1) flying down the beach.  He braves the cool water to snag some great shots...

15 miles visibility this morning and only a few clouds in the hazy blue skies.  With fires still raging to the north of us there's a lot of particulate matter in the air.  Winds are offshore by 4.7kts and the sea surface is glassy.  The air was a crisp 48.3 and the water is 62.1.  High tide was at 8:57am +5.8' and a very low tide will be at 4:13pm -0.4'.  We have a SSW swell out of 200º at 2.0' and it was just about that this morning.  Kira, Bacalao and Morgan caught some of the better ones and enjoyed the bracing morning...

Another characteristic of the basic kook (#2)...

Two more reasonably priced gifts for your favorite surfer...

Wax and Wax Accessories ($1.95 – $12.95)
Every surfer needs wax, and there are a few other accessories that some use and some don't like the Pickle Wax Remover or just a plain old, but colorful Wax Comb for getting the most out of your surf wax. These are all awesome stocking stuffers that are guaranteed to be used. Just make sure you get the right wax for their water temperature and they'll be stoked!

Wetsuit Shampoo ($7.95)
For those surfers that use a wetsuit this is a handy way to not only extend the suits life, but also keep it smelling nice. Simply mix with water in a large bucket or container, dunk your wetsuit in, and give it a rinse. You'll find your suit feels softer and smells nicer which is better for everyone. This is also great for treating wetsuits if you use them in chlorine as it will cleanse the neoprene keeping it from deteriorating.

Ché and the professor with their classic Davey airbrush jobs (#3)!  If we're lucky they'll be ready tomorrow and it will be flat for a week...

We'll be skipping happy hour this week, since a lot of the crew needs to finish their Christmas shopping.  However, remember that we'll be celebrating New Year's Eve at Laurel Tavern.  The Festivities start at 5pm and go until the flaming ball drops on to the pier plaza...  Or something like that...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
