Multiple Personality Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Deep in Mexico you'd be surprised at how many vintage VW buses are still plying the highways...  Spotted this flat gray primer model (#1) in Puerto Escondido outside of Kika's Circus bar...  If you find yourself there, order the café au lait.  You get two for the price of one and if the barkeep flips the lid from the mezcal bottle and you catch it you get another one...  Don't worry, by the time you've had three you couldn't catch the plague...

Beautiful morning with just a bit of sideshore from the southwest at 2 to 4kts.  The air temperature was 53.9º, but warmed up very nicely and the water is 60.6º.  One tide today and tomorrow and it was Low at 10:33am +0.5'.  We had a SW swell out of 232º at 3.9' and it was 3' to 5' with some ledgy right lines.

Tarsan (#2) thinking about what tattoo he should get to commemorate the trip.  That didn't require much cogitation, he had been feasted upon by the local mosquito population down at the beach.  Funny, if you had asked Don Congrejó, LóLa or the Professor, they would have told you there weren't many bugs at all.  But Tarsan would tell you that they came in dark clouds from the lagoon and feasted on the flesh of the pure of heart.  To appease the mosquito gods, he did what you do, he got a tattoo of an anopheles blood sucker (#3) and voilá, not another bite after that...

Big celebration for Aubrie this weekend down at Burnout.  Here we have her riding shotgun as the wedding party pulls up to the parking lot (#4).  The weather cooperated, the celebration was sweet and short, the taco truck was on time and we danced until 2am...  Congratulations to Mr. Adam and Mrs. Aubrie Hinshaw!
