Spring Is Really Here Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Everybody's pressing the boundaries and here's a shot (#1) of Jah Morgan at Kelly's place showing just how far back you can get into the tube.  Now sometimes it can be too far back and Kelly's beach can be a little tough on boards.  Not only that, you can have Jah show you her war wounds where she had her whip follow her over the falls and bruise her leg from hip to ankle (No, we're not going to share those pics.)  She got the prize for wave of the day AND Chelé (#2) gets a chance to shape her a new ride...

Cloudy today and it looks exactly how spring is supposed to look in the South Bay.  Visibility was around 7 miles and winds were persistent out of the SW by 3 to 5kts.  The sea surface was bumped and a bit rugged.  The air temperature was 57.0º and the water is 60.6º.  High tide was at 10:57am +4.0' and low tide will be at 4:24pm +1.3'.  We had a west swell this morning out of 265º at 3.9' and it was 3' to 5' and we couldn't make it look compelling enough to go out...

Now if you were in Florida (#3) like Aaron, bumpy 3 to 5' might have been tempting...  In this shot it looks like their version of the Office is going off at 6"...

Welcoming the day we enjoyed the company of the visiting dignitaries (#4), including Larry Dairy and Keeks from N.J.  Larry was here because Tucson is too hot and Keeks was here because New Jersey was too cold...  Meanwhile Jetski and LoLa were there because it was there...

And us?  Well, we were in Mexico, somewhere between Puerto Escondido and Acapulco on our way to the beach (#5).  We stopped a little bit from Zapotilito to let our driver negotiate with a client for an afternoon ride to Zicatela.  She was a trip, figuratively and literally.  Her name was Maggie and she had a laugh like ice tinkling in a glass with salt on the rim.  She got us to the beach with way enough time for a cerveza and an afternoon session.
