Covid 1, Surf Team 0 Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

In a flurry of e-mails and guidance from the high school administration, there will be no in-person practice for the surf team for the rest of this week.  The COVID plague has ravaged the local high schools and talking with Tarsan about Mira Costa, they are facing the same critical mass of student and staff infections as Redondo.  So that's pretty disappointing news, but we're expecting the regulars to keep busy in the less crowded surf...

Meanwhile, check out how clear the water was this morning (#1)!  Pretty impressive.  Visibility was 20+ miles and the sky had few clouds.  Winds were offshore at 3 to 4kts and the sea surface was glassy.  It was a chilly 45.5º in the air and the water was 58.3º and it was actually much more comfortable in the water than out on the sand.  High tide was at 9:36am +6.8' and low tide will be at 4:57pm -1.6'.  We have a west swell out of 265º at 3.6' and it was 3' with an occasional 3+ sneaker...  Chilly, but fun...

Doc ? and Burnsy in the shadows (#2).  She's just returned from Maine and she and Chris got looks when they waltzed into Lazy Acres wearing tank tops and shorts.  They thought 50º was a lot warmer than what they left...

Some nice lines before the tide shut things down (#3).  This one features A-Aron setting up for a nice little head-dip.  Hoods were a good call this morning for warding off the wind chill...
