Keeps Getting More Curious Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

(#1) But the hydrocarbon sunsets of Los Angeles — with colors from urine to scarlet to dried blood — they blaze!  Don Waldie
That just about describes the sunrise this morning.  Maybe a tad more hopeful than the sunset.  It was so brilliant that the Professor stopped the class from getting into their wetsuits and had them take a long look at the show...
(Thanks to Keeks for turning us on to the Waldie quote!)

A skoshy less than 10 miles visibility this morning under those nimbus floaters.  Winds were light offshore in the 2 to 4kt range and the sea surface was smooth.  The air was a relatively warm 49.0º and the water is 58.5º.  Low tide was at 11:02am +1.4' and high tide was at 4:44pm +2.9'.  There's a weak west swell out of 260º at 3.0' and it was 2' to 3' and if all the indicators are correct things should start building tomorrow for some bigger surf for the next few days.  Are you ready?

First world problem (#2).  Doc ? has this problem.  If you don't help him get out of his wetsuit he might be stuck like this all day.  He can't get into his car, eat brekky with the crew and or put on his glasses.  Yeah, we helped him (but not before we snapped this shot...)

We see this lady skateboarding on the Strand regularly (#3).  She got to be in her 60's (at least) and she's got this casual compact style.  No airs, grinds or ollies.  This morning she threw in the Hello Kitty umbrella, complete with kitty ears and ladybug spots.  We always appreciate style wherever we find it...
