Getting Ready For Halloween Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Sunny this morning with the Redondo Surfing Seahawks making it look good (#1)!  20+ miles visibility and not a cloud in the sky.  No wind either, so the surface was smooth to glassy.  The air temperature was 58.9º and the3 water is 67.8º, warming up a bit during the sunny day.  High tide was at 7:29am +3.9' and low tide was at 10:18am +3.8'.  It was a weak SSW swell out of 198º at 2.0' and it was 1' to 2' and small, but if you were looking you could find a nugget or two.  Burnsy's been working the rail-grab and extending her rides by another 25yds!  She has to start watching the pier, it's looming!

Roughly 35 years ago, Doug Blades made the coffin and the Professor did the artwork for Vicki McGuire's 40th birthday.  A rollicking affair it began with a funeral procession up Draille Dr. that rousted the good citizens out of their Barca-Loungers.  Then Denny Hengen DJ'ed an evening full of devil music that lasted until Henry Richardson fell asleep under the dining room table.  In subsequent years the casket was used numerous times (a Halloween staple) and legend has it that it was interred with the remains of  Antonio "Lil' Smoker" Gonzales-Gonzales at Green Hills Cemetery...

Like everything else the cost of sand-dollars has risen sharply.  Here (#3) the Professor takes a close look at a couple of prime examples.  Thanks to the Ladies Auxiliary, Sewing Circle, Art Salon, Book Review and Swim Club.  (LASCASBR&SC)
