Thomas Mann's Magic Mountain Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

The "Bamboo Express" was in full flight (#1) as Jetski requested a privacy wall between him and the new interlopers on Bard St.  Well, it is on the second story and you don't want to wait too terribly long for things to get high enough to block those inquiring eyes...  This one measured 27'3"...

In Hermosa the surf lined up a bit better this morning than Sunday if you caught it earlier than later.  Nary a cloud in the sky and 20 miles visibility.  Winds were offshore and chilled by the 52.5º air.  The water on the other hand was a mild 68.0º and felt toasty compared to the air.  High tide was at 8:58am +5.9' and low tide will be at 3:25pm +0.2' for a healthy tidal swing.  We have a SSW swell out of 199º at 3.9' and it was 3' to 4'  with some outsides that meant business.

You know you get to a certain age and you become a certifiable "Fall Risk."  Also if you surf the way the Professor does, it's inevitable...  Thanks to Jetski for grabbing a bunch of these while in the sick bay...  Special custom Birdwell Beach Britches by the Anaheim, Azusa and Cucamonga, Sewing Circle, Book Review & Timing Assciation...

See, we thought that folks would immediately understand that these slots (#3) were for surfboards!  Well, apparently some folks thought that they perfectly accommodated their B-Avocados with another spot for the salsas!  Don't these California folks think of everything!
