Galentines Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Yes, "Galentine's Day" is our latest addition to the pantheon of holidays.  Apparently it's an holiday when the girls get to fete each other without the burden of male intrusion.  Of course Valentine's Day is still on the books, so don't feel like you're off the hook gentlemen.  We could suggest "Palentine's Day" for the day after Valentine's where guys can hang out and give each other those little hearts with the cute slogans.  Our research has so far discovered no Saints Gal or Pal, so these must be pagan holidays.  We're already doing "Festivus", so what's a couple more...

A beautiful if not chilly morning with 46.5º in the air and 58.8º in the water.  Winds added to ✠the chill at 3 to 5kts and the sea surface was smooth.  A couple of tides in the a.m. with a low at 5:28am +0.8' and a high at 11:25am +4.7'.  There's a west swell out of 267ºat 2.6' and it's about twice that at 3' to 4'.  A bit wally, but some odd corners near the holes at the end of the berm.  Class is out at 8:15am so take a look then...

Took in some polo (#1) while in Palm Springs.  A little brunch, a little champagne, little horses...  Oddly, at such a spendy place, it was free to watch both the polo and the jumping.  Apparently February is the time to go there...
