It's Like Thunder, Lightning, The Way You Love Me Is Frightening Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

In case you're wondering what you're looking at (#1), this is a shot from the Hermosa Pier this morning of a totally new sandbar in the middle of, what might be considered, 11th St.  This is good news!  We also observed evidence of several other similar sand bars on both side of the pier.  Capitan Donaldo reported that possibly 12' of sand had been eaten up in this last storm.  When the weather calms down we can busy ourselves exploring some of these new bumps.

Raining this morning with less than a mile visibility.  The winds were swirling all over the place from 8 to 12kts and the sea surface was uneven and ruffled.  The air temperature was 51.3º and the water is 59.7º.  If you think that's warm for this time of year, you'd be right.  The forecasters have been telling us that it's a characteristic of El Niños to have warmer water temps.  They allow more water to be sucked into the atmosphere and then dumped on us as liquid sunshine.  High tide was at 5:50am +5.7' and low tide will be at 1:30pm -0.9' setting us up for a series of p.m. low tides this week.  It's a WSW swell out of 242º at 4.3' and it's 3' to 5' depending on the wind and tide...
Stay dry friends...
