It's On Our List Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Susan Sontag said, "I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list."  We get it.  So this week we'll be in Palm Springs checking out the Polo matches and maybe dropping by the wave pool (which we understand has taken quite a bit of flack for using so much water in it's desert environment.  Not that this year should count.)  But fear not, we'll try valiantly to bring you the report using some recently acquired technology.

Meanwhile, not many people braving it this morning as the wind continues to roughen things up and the bacteria count remains high.  Beautiful morning however with partly cloudy skies and some warm sun poking through.  Winds are shifting from west to north to back again at 4 to 15kts and are scheduled to freshen up during the day.  The air temp is 49.0º and the water is 59.2º.  High tide was at 7:28am +6.6' and low tide will follow at 2:42pm -1.7'.  Lots of sand continues to be washed into the surfline with the rain, tides and wind.  Always a good sign.  It's a west swell out of 260º t 6.9' and it's 4' to 7' on the beach and it continues to be a bit disorganized.  If the wind holds back, there might be some good waves tomorrow!

We managed to stay dry even though it was coming down like gang busters the other night.  This (#1) is the patio at Riviera Mex.  PCH was flooded at Ave. I and the noise of the rain hitting the fiberglass roofing was deafening!
