Lost Boys & Co...

Down in Mexico there's this little village that only Tyrone James knows about.  This reef is know locally as T.J.'s Reef.  The locals pronounce it Tee-Yays Reef, but you know it when you see it.  It's rocky, it gets big and there's funny fish in the water.  He's there right now...  and you're not...

Hazy sun this morning with 15 miles visibility.  The wind turned early and by 9am it was 6.3kts out of the west.  There's a storm out there at 295° so the wind was just waiting to kick up some big tack.  The air temperature was 57.0° and the water was a springer 59.9°, getting all the way up to 62 this afternoon.  High tide was at 6:37am +4.3' and low tide was at 12:47pm +0.4'.  The buoy was reading the swell at 4.3' out of 268°.  The waves were a solid 4' to 5' and actually pretty good shape off the high tide.  You didn't have a lot of choice because the wind came up so quick, but earlier might be better than later tomorrow.  We hit Sapphire and there were some sweet outsides.  It can't have that many good days before it shuts down for the summer, but it's been surprising us for the last month.  Check it out!

Photo the second is Jose Barahona and Buck discussing the length of Buck's tailblock or something?  Anyway, get ready for a long flat spell in about two weeks when Buck takes delivery of that blade.  It's based on the San O' model that Becker carries.  Of course this one has some special Buck magic in it.
