Monsoon Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

So, we go to this party and we're expecting a lot of sketchy guys, mob types, old school guineas...  you know.  So, the first guy we run into is Murph.  And Murph is putting up a good front.  He's hanging tough, steely gaze, gold chain, same outfit he wore to the morning checkout.  Oh yeah, except for the lit cigarette behind his ear.  That's tres tough in our book...

Rain intermittently this morning, with the sun breaking through when you least expect it.  Visibility is 15 to 20 miles, depending on the clouds.  Winds out of the WSW by 7.5kts and the sea surface is working a major tack, almost to chop.  The air temperature at checkout was 54.3° and the water is holding at 58.1° despite the influx of fresh water.  High tide is at 8:57am +4.4' and low tide will be at 2:46pm +0.7'.  The buoy is reading a west swell out of 260° at 5.9' and we're calling it 4' to 7'.  If the wind stops in time today, tomorrow could have some good waves!  Check it out...

You go to these events and you run the risk of running into folks who's stated job descriptions involve the vitiation of certain citizens who hold different philosophical and commercial viewpoints.  Surrounded by his "family," we have Brad "The Webfoot" Webster (aka Bradley the Bracket, Bad Hat, Lucky B, Vinnie Goombah and Elmer the Fudd.)  The big lug behind him is his kid Stretch (like 6'5") with no sense of proportion or humor.  Tried out for the Dodgers and was let go because all the bats kept disappearing.  At his right is his omnipresent and unreasonable son Pauly.  Pauly, put three slugs into an ice chest, because he thought it moved on him...

Finally and this ain't pretty... we have a trio of uh, "persons of interest."  On the right is Julie Loorya, who was responsible for the entire soiree.  In the middle is Lethal Keithal (because they never suspect the Asian guy) and on the left is "Sophia Loren."  Sporting a rather provocative barbishe, she didn't look exactly the way we remembered.  Of course neither did Carlo Ponti...  You know she's not that tall and he was a head shorter...  but what a great guy!
