Trombone Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

It's always a little sketchy when all those fish just keep swimming toward you and suddenly your in the middle of the school.  Holy mackerel!  How can the shark tell you from the fish?  Simple answer:  He can't!

Dammit, it's cold out there this morning!  Overcast skies with 7 miles visibility.  Winds are persistent out of the south by 5.2kts and the sea surface was smooth at checkout time.  The air temperature is 56.3° and the water is 57.2°.  High tide is at 9:26am +4.4' and low tide will be at 2:51pm +0.9'.  The buoy is reading a SW swell out of 220° at 2.6'.  Because of the high tide we're calling it 1' to 2' and poor.

A group made up of business professionals in the South Bay called Networking Matters is putting on a Cinco de Mayo networking event, Wednesday, May 5th from 6 to 8:30 pm. at the new Miyako Hybrid Hotel and Gonpachi Restaurant across the street from PTN.  It should be a fun event and features "sake-ritas", "California taco rolls" and other hybrid creations. The hotel is fabulous! You will feel like you have stepped into another world.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Pediatric Therapy Network and Peninsula Seniors. Funds raised for PTN will go to Camp Escapades scholarships and the Eric de Bahia Scholarship Fund!
The new Miyako Hybrid Hotel and Gonpachi Restaurant is located on the corner of Western and 213th Street, 21381 S. Western Ave , Torrance, 90501
(Face it, your network has a few holes in it, time to get fabulous and go to a hybrid-hotel...  Ed.)

Hello All,
We are looking for a condo or small two bedroom place to stay in Oahu.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Regards,
Mayra Houston

While Paver was out hugging it up with the pink and green dancers, this homeless guy was hanging with Diane Cole, LoLa and Danger Girl.  Wait... is that the Professor?  Lookin' a bit sunshot...  maybe more emollients might take the edge off of that George Hamilton tan.  You might remember in the West Coast Tanning Championships in 1974, he finished second ahead of Hamilton's 3rd and Barbara "Barboon" Keesling's 4th (Barboon, over-did it and peeled three weeks before the finals.  She made a valiant effort, but remained a bit spotty at the end.)  Who won?  The Spaniard, Sabado Domingo from the Canary Islands.

Remember, today will be the last regular report for about a week.  We're going to be hitting the reef outside of Akumal on the Yucatan peninsula for some archeological exploration.  Where did all those Mayans go?  Word has it they went on vacation just after the Spaniards showed up and never came back...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
 The Professor!!
