Let's see what we have going on... Ché took this shot of Don Swift at Sapphire yesterday and we thought it reminded us of something. Yeah, that old SURFER cover with Murphy on it! Rick Griffin grew up in PV and had a lot of the local influence strained through his unique filter... Sorry you have to turn your head to see it to it's full advantage. We can't figure out how to turn those phone shots right-side up...
Ten miles visibility this morning with hazy overcast skies. Winds were against us all morning, variable from 3 to 6kts onshore and the sea surface was slightly bumped to lightly diced. The air temp was 53.2° and the water was 59.7°, even though the Lifeguards had posted 62.3° on the chalkboard. Got our hopes up! High tide at 6:41am +4.1' and low tide will follow at 12:31pm +0.7'. Even though the buoy called it a SSW swell out of 198° at 2.3', Danger Boy and the Professor went out in Hermosa anyway. It was a solid 2' and they surfed it like it was twice that small... They got out and they were laughing... Have you laughed yet today?
Okay, we don't want to unfairly influence you, but #19 is sooo true and makes us laugh every time we read it...
17. The voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas!
18. Hospitality: Making your guests feel like they're at home, even if you wish they were.
19. I discovered I scream the same way whether I'm about to be devoured by a great white shark or if a piece of seaweed touches my foot.
