A Twinge Of A Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

So, how do you get to the beach on Halloween?  The pumpkin bus is here to take you to your trick-or-treating destination!  Thanks to Danger Girl for sending us the idea!  The seats are a bit slimy, but the seeds are tasty...

It blows like hell yesterday and you think, "It's got to be great in the morning!  At least a short period wind swell...  Well, There's 20+ miles of visibility, with only a few rogue clouds bumping around (even though it rained with some authority this am.)  Winds were out of the north at checkout by 3.3kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air was a chilly 54.9˚ and the water was down a degree to 63.5˚.  High tide was at 6:55am +4.8' and low tide will be at 12:59pm +1.8'.  Unfortunately, it must've blown itself out and we're left with a west swell out of 261˚at 2.6'.  It's 1' to 2' and just a bit ragged...

Meanwhile, the guys at Brother's were watching, possibly the largest wave ever ridden.  Carlos Brule, madman Brazilian, looks like he might have ridden a hundred footer!  Once again it was at Nazaré, on Portugal's central coast.  Tio Ted didn't want to hear any more, the Professor couldn't watch it again and Wheatley was speechless.  If you took the biggest wave each of these guys have ever ridden and added them together, they probably don't add up to a hundred feet!

The last (thank you) of the top 5 things successful people do before 8am...
Make Your Day Top Heavy. We all have that one item on our to do list that we dread. It looms over you all day (or week) until you finally suck it up and do it after much procrastination. Here's an easy tip to save yourself the stress - do that least desirable task on your list first. Instead of anticipating the unpleasantness of it from first coffee through your lunch break, get it out of the way. The morning is the time when you are (generally) more well rested and your energy level is up. Therefore, you are more well equipped to handle more difficult projects. And look at it this way, your day will get progressively easier, not the other way around. By the time your work day is ending, you're winding down with easier to dos and heading into your free time more relaxed. Success!
