Motherlode Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Here we have a couple of intrepid divers, snorkeling the rock reefs of Catalina.  Looks like Susan Fieles and LoLa coming up for a breath.  Our Indian Summer has left the water warm enough to do a bit of late season diving...  LOOK!  A garibaldi!...

Some high clouds this morning, suggesting a change in the weather.  15 miles visibility and some are even predicting rain for the middle of the week.  What does Vegas say?  Winds were calm this morning and the sea surface was glassy.  The air temperature was 64.2˚ and the water is still nice at 67.8˚.  High tide is at 10:49am +6.1' and low tide will be at 5:46pm +0.0'.  We currently have a SSW swell out of 205˚ at 2.3'.  It's about half that big and pretty meager.  Let's agree that it's going to get better...

Some of the more derelict of the Lost Boys have been meeting for dinner at Louie-Louey's on Monday nights for the past few years.  Well, okay, it's not Louie-Louey's anymore.  It's the Corner Pub, but we still call it Louie-Louey's.  Our friend Moon, bought it from our friend Anthony, who bought it from our friend Dave.  Dave had the original menu, which was mostly Mexican and then Anthony added a couple of Vietnamese dishes and now Moon has added a couple of Korean bowls and some Japanese rolls and kept all of the stuff from before.  Great food, sketchy company and easy enough to walk home.  We meet at 6:15pm...  Next to Naja's on the Redondo International Boardwalk.
