A Wasco Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

A lot of native pride on Catalina Island.  They have a pretty energetic skate culture and for such a small place they have several shops.  Don't know who came up with it first, but this Island skate deck is so popular it's made it to apparel, hats and posters.  Lots of downhill for sure...

Downright cloudy this morning with 7 miles visibility.  Winds were offshore by 3.9kts and the sea surface had a bit of a ripple, but not choppy.  The air temperature was 64.4˚ and the water was an incredible 68.2˚ at the buoy, but not that warm in the surf line.  High tide was at 8:28am +5.1' and low tide will be at 2:28pm +1.1'.  There was a SSW swell out of 209˚ at 3.3' and it looked that big, with even fatter outsides.  One of those races to get your butt down to the bottom before the lip...  Some good ones for the patient...
