The Ever-Popular Three-Spined Stickleback Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

You know how people always say something like, "Isn't this the BEST lasagna you've ever had?"  Or "Isn't my grandchild the cutest thing?"  Maybe even, "Fido is just the smartest pooch ever!"  Well, this was the best lasagna we've ever had.  This guy was a chef in New York before he returned to El Salvador to run the local radio station.  He cooked this up for Danger Boy's birthday and three helpings later none of us could move...

After our attempt at weather yesterday, we have gorgeous clear skies and unlimited visibility.  Winds were offshore and brisk and the sea surface was brushed, but smooth.  The air temp took a real dip to 52.9˚ and the water was 66.2˚ at the buoy.  The air is almost 10 degrees cooler this morning than yesterday and at Hermosa Pier the water temp was 63˚!  Capt. Mike Enscore said he wouldn't have been convinced, but he took it himself.  Low tide was at 6:50am +2.8' and high tide will follow at 1:22pm +5.4'.  We have a west swell out of 264˚, which seems to be declining, but it was 3.6' and the manes on the waves were worth the go-out, if not the 3' to 4' waves.  Some fun ones...
