Fourth Of July Saturday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Since it's a special Saturday, we thought we'd send out an extra report just for the hell of it...

One of the things we don't often see in California waters are sea turtles.  Over the years we've noticed that the numbers that you see in Mexico and Hawaii have increased!  Looks like the measures they've taken to stop the random killing of these magnificent animals is helping!

Overcast, with 5 miles visibility.  Winds are out of the SW by 2.2kts and the sea surface is lightly rippled.  The air temp is 68.0˚ and the water is 64.2, driven down a bit by the winds yesterday.  Low tide was at 5:51am -1.0' and high tide will follow at 12:22pm +4.4'.  We have a SW swell out of 222˚ at 3.6' and it's a bit smaller than that, but should be getting better over the next few days.

The crew in a celebratory mood anticipating the Fourth!
