The Third Before The Fourth Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

A lot of surfing involves checking it out.  Like this pic of Suzanne and Joey checking out Pipeline.  Not much going on this day, in fact Hermosa today looked better than Pipeline...  Of course it was June...

Winds were onshore this morning by 5.2kts and there was only 5 miles visibility and overcast skies, but our crew braved the less than perfect conditions for a fun go-out.  The air temp was 71.2˚ and the water is 66.9˚, trying it's best to warm up.  Low tide was at 5:10am -1.1' and high tide will follow at 11:38am +4.3'.  We have a SSW windswell out of 213˚ at 3.0' and it was around 2' with some forgiving little corners...  Fun, fun, fun...

The Mermaid tonight at 5:30pm for those who want to brave the pre-Fourth Hermosa madness...  On the patio if we can find a spot...

Then, there's the hill above Flies/Point Panic.  It's actually Kaka-Ako Waterfront Park, between the Honolulu Channel and the Kewalo Yacht Basin entrance.  Formerly, the Honolulu dump (hence the name "Flies") but now the site of a spaceous park and the University of Hawaii Medical Center.  Our intrepid surfers, Joey, Suzanne and the Professor ogle the gorgeous surf before breaking for the break with Miloe and Bill Mason...
