Every Year Has To Have A First Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Even though it didn't look consistently that good, every once in a while one came through (#1).  If you were there it was enough...

Cloudy with 5 miles visibility and it looks like rain although nothing has come down most of the day.  Winds were out of the SSE all morning variable to 6kts and the sea surface was rippled.  The air was a chilly 51.5 and the water is 58.3.  High tide was at 10:55am +5.1' and low tide will be at 6:12pm 0.0'.  We have a west swell out of 260º at 3.3' and it was 2' to 3' and best early and maybe when the tide goes down...

So, you gotta know that the whole Inca Trail is not straight up or straight down, but there are some spots that will give you a run for your money (or monkey).  Like the "Monkey Steps" (#2), so named for the manner in which you ascend them, like a monkey.  They are also known as the "Gringo Killers," although we saw no empirical evidence to suggest any veracity of that claim...

No, we won't leave you on the trail.  Here we are (#3) at the "Sun Gate" at the entrance to Machu Picchu proper.  A fabulous experience, it was exhilarating walking into the city...  Mostly because we could still walk...
