Wetable Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

How many of you remember the Bing Surf Shop on PCH almost to Artesia Blvd?  Well, if you remember that, chances are you remember when Hope Chapel was a bowling alley and there was an Orange Julius® down the block from Bing...  The board the kid is showing off is a Nuuhiwa Noserider, one of the last big innovations before the short board era...

It is a wetable Wednesday and if it's not wet then it wasn't outside.  Breaking up mid-morning with 10 miles visibility and cloudy skies.  Winds are strong out of the west from 15 to 22kts and the sea surface is choppy and windblown.  The air temperature is 57.7 and the water is up a click to 59.2 (thank you Pineapple Express!)  High tide is at 7:43am +6.9' and low tide will be at 2:51pm -1.6'.  We have a rolling west swell out of 265º at 4.3' and it's 4' to 5' and poor shape.  We'll wait for the wind to ease up a bit...

Why are these men laughing?

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
