Big Picture Surf & Culture Report...

Lost Boys & Co...

So, it's Friday and we'll be headed over to Samba and let the sun slides into the Pacific...  This sunset (#1) at Sunset Beach features a nice little peak at Val's Reef right out in front.  When it was macking on the outside one afternoon we surfed this peak with a bunch of kids who were riding right over the rocks on the inside!  The water can be so clear that it looks like your a couple of inches above the reef...  In reality you're about 6 inches...  Not that much better huh... #2 is our best shot at a postcard.  "The weather is here, wish you were beautiful..."

Hazy sun this morning and 15 miles visibility.  Winds were soft out of the NW at 2.3kts and it was smooth.  The air temp was 64.9 and the water is a nice 68.2.  Low tide was at 9:46am +1.3' and high tide follows at 4:50pm +4.7'.  That south swell you've heard so much about is grazing Hermosa from 181º south at 3.9' and it was a solid 3' with some fun outside peaks, even as the tide pulled away from the shore...  Give it a look in the morning!

The ancient and honored tradition of roasting marshmallows over a palm frond fire (#3).  The fire goddesses LoLa and Lilly Panda Cheeseburger, regarding the flame with appropriate awe as they achieve the perfect brown-toastiness...
