No Fireworks In Redondo On The Fourth Of July Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

That's right, there are no fireworks in Redondo this evening.  Not at the pier or at the Riviera.  In Hawaii they have fireworks AND rainbows...  (#1 photo credit:  Seamus the Leprechaun)

Clearing skies this morning with 20 miles visibility.  Winds were out of the south by 3.7kts and the sea surface had a bit of texture.  The air temperature was 674.4 and the water is 68.4.  Low tide is at 8:12am +0.7' and high tide will be 3:19pm +4.1'.  We have a SW swell out of 220º at 2.6' and it's almost 1' on the beach.  We went Stand-Up Paddling and took in the general chaos that evolves into the Fourth...

Uncle Miloe, the Professor and Buck getting ready to slip into the launching pad at Flies (#2).  Everything makes for a perfect entry except for the last step, which just happens to be slightly slipperier than snot...  If you don't put your leash on at the top of the stairs you and your blade will be parted upon hitting the water.  The surge is strong enough that people just swim in the slot to the ocean and never really go out any further...

Nice group shot (#3)(Buck, LoLa, Barbina and Uncle Miloe) but really we were looking at the peak there in the middle...  The girls were sweet - they brought us Spam Musubi for treats when we got out of the water...

Samba for Happy Hour on Friday.  S'posed to be nice and toasty!
