Lost Boys & Co...

Coney Island West (#1)  When we were kids, no one used umbrellas.  We thought that was a really east coast thing.  However, times change and folks have a totally different notion about how to approach the sun...  We're waiting for the pendulum swing...

Not quite 10 miles visibility this morning with a warm but hazy sun.  Winds are light out of the SE by 2kts and the sea surface is smooth.  The air was a toasty 71.8 and the water is 71.2.  High tide was at 7:37am +3.5' and low tide will be at 12:27pm +1.8'.  There's a SSW swell out of 207º at 2.6' and that's just about how it was stacking up.  B$ got the dump this morning after a sticking a couple of rights and a long left almost to the pilings...

The North Shore is supposed to be pretty docile during the summer, but we managed to get a sneaker north at Sunset at the same time the South Bay got some good waves from the NW.  Photos #2 and #3 were the first day of the swell.  It got bigger the next day and we headed to the south shore to avoid the crowd and maxing out our equipment.  The day after that we hit Sunset with Bill Mason, Uncle Miloe and The Sensei Joey and got some good ones at the point...  Ask Joey about our party wave...

We met this photographer at Waimea Falls (#4)  He comes to photograph the natural wonders and the rare plants they've cultivated there.  But he doesn't want anybody in the pics dispoiling the view.  So, he comes just before closing and when everyone leaves he takes his shots before they kick him out...
