Lost Boys & Co...

Here (#1) we have this morning's crew ready for the scheduled burrito break this morning.  From L. to R. we have Jetski, Tarsan, Burnsy, LoLa, Marco and Larry Dairy.  Not pictured was Ronnie's Diner, because he was still in the water and the Professor, because he took the pic...

Sunny morning with 15miles visibility.  Slight onshore breeze at 1 to 5kts and a little bump  on the water.  The air temp at checkout was 65.7º but warmed up quickly and the water is 65.7º.  Low tide was at 9:41am +1.4' and high tide follows at 4:49pm +4.9'.  We have a west swell out of 260º at 3.0' and it was 3' with an occasional bigger outside...

One of the deepest marble quarries in the world is here near Evora, Portugal (#2 & #3).  The water in the bottom is from the water table that they ran into quite a ways up and keep busy pumping out to cool off all of the saws they have running to slice up the marble.  To give you some idea how deep this pit is, you could put the Empire State Building at the bottom and it wouldn't come up to the top.  Standing on the platform over the edge was a butt puckering experience of the first order...

Speaking of building materials.  A couple of Franciscans decided that instead of marble, they would do the walls of this monastery in bones (#4 & #5).  Unlike the Capuchin Chapel in Rome, it's decorated with not only the bones of other Franciscans, but those that they dug up from the local cemetery.  They were trying to make the point that this is where everyone ends up.  Okay, a bit macabre, but okay...
