Photo the First, shows us the moon sending down some fabulous rays to light the playing field at Sapphire. It was remarkable in it's luminosity and apparent size.
Clear skies and 15 miles visibility. Winds were offshore at 2 to 45kts and the sea surface was smooth, but the wind kicked up early and added some texture. The air was a chilly 59.0º and the water is 65.3º. Supposed to be more warm weather in the forecast to stave off falling into Fall. High tide is at 10:01am +5.9' and low tide is at 4:05pm +0.2'. Heading for some minus afternoon tides this week. A SSW swell out of 213º at 2.6' and it was 3' and fun enough for your average bear or Lego™ man...
Photo the second, shows the descending moon (which seems to be showing a smirky smile) getting ready to dive into the ocean just outside of the pier. Numerous fisherpeople and the curious cheered the falling orb and leapt up and down at the sight. At one point it appeared to be rising again, but no, it finally sank slowly and silently into the brine...
