Spinning Reel Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Yes!, Anupa had these great stickers (#1) made advertising her not-for-profit fish conservation group, "Fish On."  She's going to let us know when we can contribute to the cause.  She's already been in some high level meetings in Washington and locally cementing her place in the aquatic community.  If you like to fish and are concerned about the environment this just might be the group for you.

One of those standout mornings in the South Bay.  It really looked like summer.  10 miles visibility and little or no wind.  The sea surface was glassy.  The air was a warm 68.0º and the water was an even warmer 69.8º.  High tide was late at 11:08am +5.0' and low tide follows at 5:14pm +1.3'.  It's a SSW swell out of 205º at 3.0' and it was 1' to 3' and some little shorebound zippers.  We're going to call it a tie with Larry Dairy winning the surfing category and José Bacallao taking the SUP honors.  Capt. Don Congrejo surprised everyone by coming out on his Boogie™ board instead of surfing it.  He says he was 2 for every three and they were all overhead.  Speaking of Don, Monet has surgery mañana, so keep her in your thoughts!

In photo #1 the Professor correctly identified the fish as a Yellowtail.
