Outrigger Canoe Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

There are numerous ways to get across the water.  If it's on the Big Island we'd recommend paddling.  Laurie Armour and her crew did just that and managed to beat all of the other women in the race from Kailua-Kona to Honaunau.  Here (#1) are the jubilant paddlers!  Looks like they covered the distance in 32min 18sec.  Last time we were on the Big Island it took us longer to drive...

Overcast this morning and visibility was 3 miles through the heavy haze.  Winds wee light offshore and the sea surface was glassy.  The air temperature was 67.3º and the water is 70.0º.  High tide was at 10:28am +4.8' and low tide will be at 4:06pm +1.4'.  It was a changing SW swell out of 210º at 1.6' and it was 1' to 2'.  The amazing part of this is that Jetski, Larry Dairy, Ronnie, Anton and the Professor surfed it with some success.  Supposed to be bigger tomorrow and we'll be checking it out early!
