Little Feet Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Here we have the intrepid explorer, none other than Danger Boy™.  His legacy looms large over the Owens Valley and encompasses just about everything his shadow covered in this photo.  Without the aid of a map he lead us to this remote spot where we found these petroglyphs representing the feet of water nymphs.  They no longer give out maps to these locations because certain nefarious types have been chipping or sawing them off the rock face and selling them to likewise unscrupulous collectors.  Case in point:  the left side of this glyph has been hacked off.  It, more than likely, contained the best example of this section of rock art.  We found numerous areas where folks had ravaged this ancient site.  Just makes you shake your head...

Hora feliz esta noché!  That's supposed to mean "happy hour tonight."  Samba is the location and 5:30 is the time.  We'll be on the west patio toasting our favorite grads!

Overcast this morning with about 9 miles visibility.  Winds were off and variable from 3 to 5kts and the sea surface was smooth to glassy.  The air temp was 62.1˚ and the water is 63.7˚ at the buoy and more like 66˚ in the surf line.  Low tide at 7:47am +0.5' and high tide will follow at 2:55pm +3.9'.  We have a ragged west combo swell out of 278˚ at 3.6' and we'll call it 1' to 3' and there were some fun ones early...  Hermosa is still working so take a look...
