Thurston Howell III Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

The guy between TC and the Professor has been getting on our nerves lately.  He's turning up all over the damned place.  He gives us this "most interesting man in the world" b.s. and wasn't even wearing a hat!  Hey he's also not that tall.  He's standing on a case of Corona's!  Here he is the Dos Equis guy and he's perched on a case of Corona to get an advantage.  TC and the Professor folded him in half and stuck him between the Mountain Dew and Beyoncé-Pepsi displays...

Overcast this morning, so you can tell it's June and 7 miles visibility so you can see where you are.  Winds were 4kts out of the south and there was a light brush on the water at checkout.  63.1˚ air temp. and the ocean is 63.7˚ at the buoy and around 68˚ at the Hermosa Pier.  We're not sure about the 68, but it was nice...  Low tide is at 7:08am +0.2' and high tide will follow at 2:07pm +3.8'.  The buoy shows a WSW swell out of 255˚ at 3.3' and it's about 1' to 2' with some fat little outsides that might get close to three, if you scrunch a bit...

We spent some quality time investigating the petroglyphs in this area of the Owens Vally.  Big Daddy has been complaining that our queries have been a bit too easy lately, so tell us what this glyph represents.  Remember it's about 4,000 years old, so there aren't going to be any references to cell phones, automobiles or reality TV.
"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
