More Tannage Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

The Professor got this card on Father's Day.  It's just like the kids to remember you pulling the palm tree over almost to the ground and it's likewise like them to forget that another second later it launched you all the way across Palm Canyon.  Anything for a laugh...

Light overcast this morning, but clearing early almost making us forget it's June.  10 miles visibility and no place to park in Hermosa.  Winds were offshore by 3.3kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temperature was 62.9˚ and the water is about 64.6˚ at the buoy.  High tide is early at 5:50am +3.2' and low at 11:05am +1.6'.  We have a SSW swell out of 200˚ true at 3.0'.  It's all of that with some bigger outsides and fun ones everywhere.  That includes San Elijo where Danger Boy sent us a text describing improving conditions and excellent camping...

In response to our request to decipher the petroglyph...  Big Daddy scores again!
Easy one.  It's a petroglyph of the goalie on the Hopie indian ice hockey team celebrating their victory over the Navajo's in the 2166BC finals!  For extra credit, their nickname was the Maize huskers.
 C'mon professor . . . something hard!
Big Daddy

Our second photo looks like it might be in Encinitas or Leucadia or maybe even San Francisco.  But no, it's in Boulder, Colorado!  To be fair they didn't have any surfboards, but they did have some cool threads and were inclined to treat their beach brethren with the bon homme reserved for members of the tribe.
