Getting up early does have it's advantages.  Take for instance watching the moon set over the end of the Hermosa Pier.  Jimmy Utah initially thought there were three moons, kinda like Pluto, but with the rising sun two of them turned out to be lights on the pier.  Okay, maybe you can get up a little too early...

An absolutely stellar/lunar summer day with 20+ miles visibility and nary a cloud in the sky.  Winds were offshore at 4.3kts and the sea surface was glassy to smooth.  The air temp was 55.7˚ and the water was 60.4˚.  Speaking of water and air temps, we understand that it has been made official:  We are in an El Niño, albeit a weak-ish one.  High tide was at 9:16am +5.0' and low tide will follow at 3:36pm +0.2'.  We currently have a SSW swell out of 202˚ at 2.6' and that's just about the size of it...  That and it's breaking right on the sand...

Happy Hour at the Mermaid at 5:30pm.  Grab a chair and watch the Strand roll by...

Tarzan hangin' out with the Professor down in Baja...  Wait...  How's come we can see the back of the Lighthouse and Waterman's from K-38?  Probably because they're in Rasta's dirt lot...  Might be the last authentic dirt lot in HB...  As opposed to those wanna-be's that have dirt trucked in from El Segundo...
