Neon Mermaid Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Like a bolt of lightning this neon mermaid just came outta the sky...

Hazy sun this morning and 10 miles visibility.  Winds were offshore by 3.7kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air was 55.2˚ and it's supposed to warm up as we go through the week.  The water's steady at 60.6˚ and it was listed as 62˚ at the Hermosa Pier.  Low tide was early at 5:05am +0.9' and high tide will also be before noon at 10:59am +3.8'.  We have a SW swell out of 225˚ at 2.3' and it seemed a little bigger than that as Jimmy Thomas and Rasta Pete put on a show on the north side of the pier.  Some crystal clear waist high rollers on the rising tide...

You ever have that problem, that whenever someone takes your photo your eyes are closed?  Kelly Haraka, has solved that dilemma by closing her eyes on purpose!  This really takes a lot of the pressure off and you can be sure that you'll know what the results will look like...  Once you open your eyes, that is...  (Ellie Connell, Kelly Haraka and Kylie Kirkpatrick)
