Magneton Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

So it's been a bit steamy here the last week and it's almost a bit of relief (almost) when the sun dissolves into the broad Pacific, like it did in this photo on Sunday.  Of course as the Professor is fond of saying, "When you have a chance to lie in the sun, do it.  It'll get cloudy soon enough."

But not today!  Go lie in that sun and get a base going for summer!  20+ miles visibility and the skies are mostly clear with a few high clouds.  Winds were offshore at checkout by 4.2kts out of the east.  The sea surface was smooth.  The air temperature was 67.9˚ (which doesn't seem outrageous, unless you consider it's still March!)  The ocean is 62.2˚ for it's own bit of toast.  High tide is at 6:37am +5.3' and low tide is a -0.5' at 1:37pm.  We have a WSW swell out of 250˚ at 2.6' and if you waited for the window to open, and you crawled in, and you were in the right place, you might have scored a few good ones...

Then there's the other side of the country, where they've been having record snowfall.  Technically these babies aren't really icebergs, but broken shore ice from around Cape Cod.  If you were waiting for the Spring Surf Season to start in New England, this may be a good time to try somewhere a bit further south...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
