Thai Pineapple Fried Rice Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

You know how you say something like, "Thai pineapple fried rice." and then you want some...

We wished that we looked this good when we were 44.  No, wait, what we meant was, we wished we had this cake when we were 44.  No, no... wait, we meant we can't remember being 44, but can we have some cake?  Or maybe just the candles?

Cloudy this morning with 5 miles visibility and later rain.  Winds were calm and the ocean surface was glassy.  The air temp was 59.9 and the water is 59.4.  High tide was at 10:00am +5.3' and low tide will follow at 3:58pm -0.1'.  We have a weak SSW swell out of 210º at 2.0' and it was just about half of that and breaking on the beach...

This glyph on Temple III looks remarkably like Jetski in a meditative pose, dressed in a cool headdress and earrings...

Photo #3 is the Temple of the Cross.  A gem of a building it sports one of the most complete "roof combs" at Palenque.  Stars are aligned with spaces on the roof comb and their movement describes the passage of a year.  That would be cool enough, but they also tell when there will be eclipses, comets and the wobble of the earth!  It's called the Temple of the Cross, because there is cross-like motif used throughout the building.  Although it looks like a Christian cross, it represents the "tree of life," a depiction used throughout Palenque...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
