A Petrichor* Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

You wanna know what really can piss you off?  It's when we have an evening glass-off and the surf is flat.  Just like this afternoon (#1) with a few ripples from the offshore breeze...

Cold this morning at 46.7, with the water dropping another degree to 62.4.  10 miles visibility and hazy skies.  Winds were offshore by 5.1kts and stayed that way all day long.  High tide was at 6:51am +6.2' and low tide will be at 1:41pm -0.2'.  We have a pre-rain SSW swell out of 205º at 1.6', but that translated to flat...  It's supposed to pick up by the morning AND the offshores are scheduled to blow most of the day tomorrow.  Since we've had our initial downpour, we might be persuaded to brave the rain if the conditions warrant it...

(#2)  Many of you remember Spicy Monkey.  He's traveled with us on a lot of our surf trips and was famous for his "Monkey in the Fig Tree" cameo in the Azores.  He hung out with the Mermaids this morning at Brother's (Nancy, Jane and Sue).  Take a look at Nancy's t-shirt...  Jane did the original and it's really a cool design hearkening back to the flowered designs of a lot of the early surf T's...

No the Professor isn't 7' tall (#3)...  The last wind storm we had blew the sand next to the wall almost to the top of the Strand wall...

La Hora de Fiesta this week will be at Patrick Malloy's!  Patrick told us that they're working with a new menu, so we're going to give it a shot...  and maybe have a shot...  5:30pm Friday and we might sit outside so dress warmly...

* This is one you can use tomorrow if the conditions are right...  "Petrichor" is the earthy scent you get when rain falls on dry ground...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
The Professor!!
