Water Resistant Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

...And it's off we go...  We're going to compare some images this morning just for fun.  Because we are hopelessly trapped in the confines of linearity, let's start with #1:  Here we have the camera pic of Hermosa (South) and it's looking pretty zero.  That combined with the caption that says "FLAT" emphasizes the notion...

Watching the horizontal, a couple of times we thought we might have seen some lightning flashes.  Could be compromised eyeballs...  Still there was 5 miles visibility and the ceiling was closing in.  Rain starting about 9:30am.  Winds out of the ESE by 10.3kts and the sea surface had a bit of a ripple.  The air temperature was 50.2 and the water is 59.2 and combined with the wind it made things a bit chilly.  Low tide at 10:56am +0.9' and high tide will be at 5:32pm +2.8' as the tides start to swing a bit more radically.  We have a SW swell out of 223º at 2.3' and it was a fun 2' to almost 3' for some technically taxing little waves...

In #2 we see the Topaz Jetty and both sides are looking pretty FLAT...  Checking it out later proved that the cam was pretty right on...

But lo and behold as we walked out on the Hermosa pier we saw these little smokers coming through.  It looked so inviting we went out.  In all honesty, we did a LOT of sitting and even more PADDLING, BUT we did catch a few and got our daily exercise requirement...  Proving?  You really gotta go and take a look...

R-10 on Friday at 5:30pm for the eager and curious...  We looked up the address and the best we could find is that it's in the Redondo Beach Marina.  Persistence of memory would allow you to recognize the location as the former, Delzano's, Hoist, or Moose Magillicuddy's...
