Moth-eaten Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

#1 Could be several things:  A.  The Professor installed a new AC unit in the bus.  B. He's going almost 200mph with the windows down.  C.  He's just in his usual hurry to check out the surf...

Smokey skies this morning and 10 miles visibility.  Winds were variable, but mostly from the SW at 3 - 5kts.  The sea surface had a light chop.  The air temp was 63 and the water is 66.7.  High tide was a new moon driven 6.7' at 9:39am and low tide is at 4:18pm -0.7'.  We have a S-SW swell out of 185º at 2.3' and it was 2' and breaking remarkably close to shore...

Paul Roustan's Halloween party was a big success and there were some fabulous costumes.  LoLa (shown in #2 with objects behind her larger than they appear) and the Professor reprised the windy couple and came in second to the woman who had molded herself in latex and turned it basically inside-out.  Third place was Edwina Scissorhands, shown here with Donnie (#3) who had started out the evening wearing long pants...  She took care of that...

The fires have been horrendous, but they've made for some great sunsets and photo ops.  In #4 we have Jah Morgan, as she cheers on the other streakers in the 30 Day Sliff Surf Challenge for the Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation...

Thursday evening there will be a Halloween Party at Laurel Tavern and we are all invited.  Wear a bike friendly costume!  Then on Friday, Happy Hour will be at Greenbelt.  Not that we'll need to be all that happy after Thursday, but what the hell...  So to speak...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
