Tunnel Vision Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

It was cool here in the Southland this morning as we registered 51 degrees here on the Mar Y Fuego Chhabria Tower overlooking Hermosa Bay as we checked out the surf.  But we haven't seen anything quite so spectacular as this tree (#1) in Eagle, Idaho (with Anaconda Burke in the foreground lest one more leaf should drop!)

10 miles visibility under smokey skies, with fires still smoldering in various locations.  Winds weren't as fierce here as in some parts, but it was 6.5kts offshore and the sea surface was smooth.  The water temperature is 66.0, but felt warmer with that chilly air.  High tide was at 10:14am +6.6' and low tide will be at 5:07pm -0.7'.  We have a weak SSW swell out of 198º at 2.6' and it was almost that big and breaking way too close to shore...  If you can grab the video (courtesy of René Evette) we attached (#4) you can see the Professor negotiate a quick jump to the beach...

Meanwhile, Mr. Christian, everyone's boyfriend, was working on his own #sliffsurfchallenge and getting shacked in the process (#2).

Spotted these two witchy women (#3) as they took off from Brother's and flew down the Strand.  No they're not real witches, silly!  It's Dane and Danger Girl in their Halloween costumes.  Love the leggings...

Halloween costume party at Laurel Tavern this Thursday.  Considering every night in Hermosa looks like Halloween, this shouldn't be a big deal, but you can never tell...
