A Runic Raining Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

(#1) Here we have an excellent example of an aubade written by the wind in the runic style.  It is a celebration of the light chasing away the darkness of the night.  It also suggests the disappointment that lovers feel as the light of the morning ends their long romantic night.  Kinda perfect for these long winter's nights...

It's a Covid vs Hepatitis kind of morning with reduced visibility, clouds and rain (heavy at times).  Winds are out of the SE by 13 to 15kts and the sea surface is brushed smooth. If you want a laugh, pull up the Malibu cam and check out how blown out the 'bu is this morning.  It's 55.5º in the damp air and 58.1º in the water.  High tide was at 5:50am +6.2' and low tide follows at 1:05pm -0.6'.  We have a south swell out of 172º at 5.2', but it's at such an angle our surf is in the 2' range with an occasional three footer.  Let's give it a look mañana...

LoLa (#2) checking out the fence-line on the path out of Eagle into the pond country.  The next day there was almost a foot of snow here and it looked like Currier and Ives.  It still looks like a scene that should be a puzzle...

When they make you walk the plank, do it with some style so that they eventually ask you to come back and forgive you for your transgressions.  Here (#3) the Professor hangs five on his way to sliding down the plank on his way across the creek.  You can't try this at home, but if you could, you shouldn't...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
